On Sunday, December 05, 2021, at approximately 2216 hours, police responded to a 911 call of two people, shot at E. 171st Street and Townsend Avenue, within the confines of the 44th Precinct in the Bronx.
Upon arrival, officers observed a 21-year-old male with a gunshot wound to the head, slumped over in the driver’s seat of a BMW.
The male was transported, via EMS, to BronxCare Health System, where he was pronounced deceased.
A preliminary investigation determined that unknown individual(s) approached the vehicle and began shooting.
Additionally, an 18-year-old female with gunshot wounds to her hand and back, who was seated in the passenger seat of the vehicle at the time of the incident, was transported via private means to BronxCare Health System, where she is listed in stable condition.
Following proper family notification, the deceased has been identified as indicated.

The New York City Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the individuals and vehicle, depicted in the attached surveillance photograph and video clip, wanted in connection to the above-listed homicide.
Details are as follows.
It was reported to police that on Sunday December 5, 2021, at approximately 2216 hours, in the vicinity of E. 172nd Street and Townsend Avenue, a black BMW sedan pulled up alongside the 21-year-old male victim’s parked vehicle.
Three (3) individuals fired several shots at the victim’s vehicle from inside the BMW.
The 21-year-old male victim suffered a gunshot wound to the head and his 18-year-old female passenger was struck in the hand and back.
EMS pronounced the victim deceased at the scene.
The 18-year-old female victim was transported via private means to BronxCare Health System in stable condition.
The individuals fled the scene westbound on E. 172nd Street inside of the BMW.
The individuals are described as males, who wore dark-colored clothing.
There have been no arrests made and the investigation remains ongoing.
