Salvatore Rivera, 51, Arrested For The Murder Of Jeremiah Smith, 24

On Friday, February 10, 2023, at approximately 1431 hours, police responded to a 911 call of multiple people, shot in front of 621 E. Tremont Avenue, within the confines 48th Precinct in the Bronx.

Upon arrival, officers discovered 4 individuals shot.

Victim #1, a 24- year-old male, was shot in the torso and transported to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.

Victim #2, a 37-year-old male, was shot in the torso and transported to St. Barnabas Hospital in critical condition.

Victim #3, a 58-year-old male, was shot in the buttocks and transported to St. Barnabas Hospital in stable condition.

Victim #4, a 36-year-old male, was shot in the ankle St. Barnabas Hospital in stable condition.

Following proper family notification, the deceased has been identified as indicated.

Pursuant to an ongoing investigation, the following 51-year-old male was arrested and charged in regard to the above-listed homicide.

  • murder;
  • assault;
  • manslaughter;
  • criminal possession of a weapon.

The investigation remains ongoing.
