On Monday, August 23, 2021, at approximately 2231 hours, police responded to a 911 call of a person, shot near the corner of E. 157th Street and Melrose Avenue, within the confines of the 40th Precinct in the Bronx.
Upon arrival, officers observed a 38-year-old male, unconscious and unresponsive, with a gunshot wound to the torso.
EMS responded to the location and transported the victim to NYC Health + Hospitals / Lincoln, where he was pronounced deceased.
Following proper family notification, the deceased has been identified as indicated.

There have been no arrests made and the investigation remains ongoing.
