On Saturday, January 24, 2026, at approximately 0039 hours, New York City Police Department (NYPD) police officers responded to a 911 call for a fire at 3475 Bivona Street, within the confines of the 47th Precinct / Police Service Area 8 in the Bronx.
FDNY responded to the location and observed a 60-year-old male and a 37-year-old male, unconscious and unresponsive.
EMS responded and pronounced the 60-year-old male deceased on scene and the 37-year-old male was transported to a local area hospital in critical condition.
Additionally, EMS transported five (5) aided individuals to a local area hospital in stable condition.
Following proper family notification, the deceased has been identified as indicated.

There have been no arrests made and the investigation remains ongoing.
