On Sunday, April 6, 2025, at approximately 0701 hours, police responded to a 911 call of two people, stabbed in the vicinity of Park Avenue and E. 161st Street, within the confines of the 44th Precinct in the Bronx.
Upon arrival, officers were informed that a 57-year-old female was stabbed multiple times in the chest and a 40-year-old female was stabbed multiple times about the body by an individual.
EMS transported the victims to NYC Health + Hospitals / Lincoln, where the 57-year-old female was pronounced deceased, and the 40-year-old female victim is in stable condition.
The suspect fled the location in an unknown direction.
Following proper family notification, the deceased has been identified as indicated.

Pursuant to an ongoing investigation, the following 46-year-old male individual was arrested and charged on Monday, April 7, 2025, at 0933 hours, within the confines of the 44th Precinct.

- attempted murder;
- murder in the 1st degree;
- murder in the 2nd degree;
- burglary in the 1st degree (2 counts);
- criminal possession of a weapon (2 counts);
- endangering the welfare of a child (3 counts).
The investigation remains ongoing.
