New York City Council Speaker Christine C. Quinn and Council Member Elizabeth Crowley, along with Women’s Issues Chair Julissa Ferreras and Health Chair Maria del Carmen Arroyo and the New York City Council’s Women’s Caucus will host “Women Saving Women: Protect Yourself Against Cancer”.
The breast and ovarian cancer awareness and action forum will take place at City Hall on March 23, 2010 at 5:30 pm. As the first event of its kind to be hosted at City Hall, three world renown cancer experts will provide the audience with information that can be applied to their daily lives that will reduce their risk of developing these virulent diseases. This information could save your life.
The forum panelists include:
Dr. David Fishman – Founder of the National Ovarian Cancer Early Detection Program and the Director of Gynecologic Oncology Research, Mount Sinai
Dr. Ken Offit – Chief of Genetics Service, Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center; expert in Genetic Predisposition to Cancer
Dr. Karen Hiotis – Breast Surgeon, NYU Medical Center; expert in breast cancer detection and treatment.
