The assisted living facility is a welcome addition to Jewish Home’s 63-year-old Bronx campus and its array of services offered in a traditionally underserved area.
“I think it’s very significant and exciting that we can provide local seniors, who might not be able to live on their own, with the chance to stay in the community,” shares Merri Buckstone, Project Manager for Jewish Home Lifecare’s brand-new University Avenue Assisted Living in the Bronx. She continues, “We encourage elders and their family members to contact us for additional information and request an application.”
“The opening of our new University Avenue Assisted Living program reinforces Jewish Home Lifecare’s commitment to providing a full range of care to the people of Bronx,” stated Audrey S. Weiner, President and Chief Executive Officer of Jewish Home Lifecare.
Deputy Bronx Borough President Aurelia Greene and New York State Assembly Member Jeffrey Dinowitz attended the official opening of the residence during a ribbon cutting ceremony held on December 7, 2013. After delivering their remarks of support for Jewish Home’s newest program, Ms. Greene and other guests toured the brand-new facility.
