On Sunday, December 12, 2021, at approximately 0951 hours, police responded to a 911 call of a pedestrian, struck by a vehicle at the intersection of W. 170th Street and Jerome Avenue, within the confines of the 44th Precinct in the Bronx.
A preliminary investigation determined that a 67-year-old female was attempting to cross Jerome Avenue, when she was struck by a 2015 Nissan Minivan, traveling southbound on Jerome Avenue.
The victim was transported to St. Barnabas Hospital, where she was pronounced deceased.
The 39-year-old male operator of the vehicle remained at the scene.
Following proper family notification, the deceased has been identified as indicated.
