Manuel Reyes, 23, Leonardo Hernandez, 25, And Joan Vasquez, 32, Arrested For The Murder Of Jefferson Hernandez, 20

On Wednesday, May 18, 2022, at approximately 1541 hours, police responded to a 911 call of shots fired at E. 144th Street and Exterior Street, within the confines of the 40th Precinct in the Bronx.

Upon arrival, officers observed a 20-year-old male, unconscious and unresponsive, with a gunshot wounds to the head.

EMS responded and transported the aided male to NYC Health + Hospitals / Lincoln, where he was pronounced deceased.

A firearm was recovered on the scene.

Following proper family notification, the deceased has been identified as indicated.

Pursuant an ongoing investigation, the following three (3) male individuals, aged 23, 25 and 32 respectively, have been arrested and charged in regard to the above-listed homicide.

Charges:

  • murder;
  • manslaughter;
  • criminal possession of a weapon.

The investigation remains ongoing.

All charges are merely accusations and all defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
