Open Call – Youth Resources Booklet Journalist

BCA’s Longwood Art Gallery @ Hostos is seeking a Bronx-based youth journalist to be commissioned to write articles related to Longwood exhibition themes, specific artists or artworks, or topical essays. Interested writers may submit examples of their work for consideration.
About the Open Call
- please submit two writing samples, 500 words max each & brief bio (100 words max)
- stipend of $125 per 500 word piece will be provided;
- gallery will produce the article as a mini zine to accompany exhibition booklets;
- journalist will be commissioned for 4 pieces per calendar year (1 per exhibit);
- both author and BCA retain reproduction rights to the commissioned text, with credit always given to the author;
- deadline is Saturday, September 07, 2019, at 11:59 p.m.
Eligibility requirements:
- journalist must be a Bronx resident under 30
