On Friday, February 14, 2020, at approximately 1836 hours, police responded to a call of an assault inside 217 Brook Avenue within the confines of the 40th Precinct in Bronx.
Upon arrival, officers observed the unconscious and unresponsive 34-year-old male victim inside the location with multiple gunshot wounds to the torso.
EMS responded and transported the victim to Lincoln Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
Following proper family notification, the deceased has been identified as follows.

Pursuant to an ongoing investigation in regard to the above-described homicide, the following 33-year-old male individual has been arrested and charged.

Leonard Nieves
180 Brook Avenue, Apt. 4H
Bronx, NY 10454
Charges:
- murder 2nd;
- manslaughter;
- criminal possession of weapon 2nd.
