Juan Nunez, 25, Arrested For The Murder Of Leshaun Whitefield, 37

On Friday, September 03, 2021, at approximately 1908 hours, police responded to a 911 call of a shooting in front of 1430 Unionport Road, within the confines of the 43rd Precinct in the Bronx.

Upon arrival, officers observed a 37-year-old male with a gunshot wound to his chest and a 27-year-old male with a gunshot wound to his right leg.

EMS responded to the scene and transported both victims to Jacob Medical Center, where the 37-year-old male was pronounced deceased.

The 27-year-old male was transported in in stable condition.

Following proper family notification, the deceased has been identified as indicated.

Pursuant to an ongoing investigation, detectives have submitted a surveillance photograph of a Jeep Cherokee, which fled the scene of the above-listed incident.

Pursuant to an ongoing investigation, the following 25-year-old male individual has been arrested and charged on Monday, September 20, 2021, at 1430 hours, within the confines of the 43rd Precinct.
