Joshua Evans, 21, Arrested For The Murder Of Enriqueta Rivera, 71

On Thursday, September 14, 2023, at approximately 1237 hours, police responded to a 911 call of two (2) people, shot at 512 E. 138th street, within the confines of the 40th Precinct in the Bronx.

Upon arrival, officers observed a 34-year-old female with a gunshot wound to the arm and a 71-year-old female with a gunshot wound to her back.

EMS responded and transported both individuals to NYC Health + Hospitals / Lincoln, where the 34-year-old individual was listed in stable condition and the 71-year-old female was pronounced deceased.

Following proper family notification, the deceased has been identified as indicated.

Pursuant to the ongoing investigation, the following 21-year-old mqle individual was arrested and charged on Monday, September 18, 2023, at approximately 0800 hours, within in the confines of the 40th Precinct.

  • manslaughter;
  • attempted murder:
  • criminal possession of a weapon: loaded firearm

The investigation remains ongoing.
