Pursuant to an ongoing investigation the following 47-year-old male individual was arrested on January 15, 2021 at 1400 hours.

Details are as follows.

It was reported to police that on Sunday, January 10, 2021, at 1100 hours inside of the 175 Street Station, in transit, within the confines of the 33rd Precinct / Transit District 3 in Manhattan, the victim, a 46-year-old male, was on the platform awaiting a southbound A train when he was approached from behind by an unidentified male who hit him in the back of the head with a hammer.

The victim fled for his safety and sought assistance from the booth clerk.

The unidentified at the time male fled, unknown direction and means.

The victim was treated for head pain at the scene by EMS, however, he refused further medical attention.

The investigation remains ongoing.

All charges are merely accusations and all defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
