On Friday, June 11, 2021, at approximately 1229 hours, police were informed of an unconscious bicyclist, lying on the roadway, along the paved bike path in Van Cortlandt Park, near Dickinson Avenue, within the confines of the 50th Precinct in the Bronx.
Upon arrival, officers observed a 56-year-old female bicyclist, lying on the roadway / bike path, unconscious and unresponsive, with head trauma (no helmet).
EMS responded to the location and transported the aided female to Montefiore Hospital, where she was pronounced deceased.
Further investigation by the NYPD Highway District’s Collision Investigation Squad determined the bicyclist was traveling north on the bike path in Van Cortlandt Park, in the vicinity of Dickinson Avenue, when she fell from the bicycle and was discovered lying on the ground.
No other vehicle or persons were involved or affected.
Following proper family notification, the deceased has been identified as indicated.

There have been no arrests made and the investigation remains ongoing.
