Jets’ new safety that they have acquired back in November of 2013, Ed Reed, has reportedly been robbed of $50K from his car on Wednesday.

Ed Reed had $50,000 in cash stored in a bag according to Local 2 in Houston.

Police at the scene say that someone smashed Reed’s window and took the bag from out of the front seat. Police also say that the person may have been targeting Reed after he made a withdraw from the bank.

A Jets spokesperson made a brief statement in a press release.

“We are currently aware of the situation. As of right now we will have no comment.”

As a Jet, Reed has had a total of 38 tackles and 3 interceptions.
