On Friday, August 26, 2022, at approximately 0057 hours, police responded to a 911 call of a person,stabbed in the vicinity of W. 44th Street and 8th Avenue, within the confines of the Midtown South Precinct in Manhattan.
Upon arrival, officers observed a 49-year-old male with stab wounds to his neck and groin.
EMS responded to the location and transported the victim to NYC Health + Hospitals / Bellevue, where he was pronounced deceased.
A person of interest, a 28-year-old male, has been taken into custody and a knife was recovered from the vicinity of the incident location as well.
Pursuant to an ongoing investigation, the following 28-year-old male individual, was arrested on Friday, August 26, 2022, at approximately 0630 hours.

- criminal possession of a weapon.
Following proper family notification, the deceased has been identified as indicated.
