Jason Rivera, 27, Arrested For The Murder Of Gloria Ortiz, 39

On Monday, February 07, 2022, at 1610 hours, police responded to a 911 call of two people, shot in front of 730 E. 137th Street, within the confines of the 40th Precinct in the Bronx.

Preliminary investigation determined that three (3) individuals were shot.

Victim #1, a 39-year-old female, was shot in the head and transported to Lincoln Hospital, where she was pronounced deceased.

Victim #2, a 32-year-old male, was shot in the back and transported to Lincoln Hospital in stable condition.

Victim #3, a 23-year-old male, was shot in the back and was taken to Harlem Hospital in stable condition.

Following proper family notification, the deceased has been identified as indicated.

Pursuant to an ongoing investigation, the following 27-year-old male individual has been arrested and charged in regard to the above-listed incident.

Charges:

  • murder;
  • manslaughter;
  • assault (2 counts);
  • attempted murder (2 counts);
  • criminal possession of a weapon (2 counts).

The investigation remains ongoing.

All charges are merely accusations and all defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
