Gregory St. Surin, 46, Arrested For The Murder Of Anthony Carty, 46

On Wednesday, October 19, 2022, at approximately 1227 hours, police responded to a 911 call of an assault inside 2774 3rd Avenue, within the confines of the 40th Precinct in the Bronx.

Upon arrival, officers observed a 46-year-old male, unconscious and unresponsive, with a stab wound to the torso.

EMS responded to the location and transported the victim to NYC Health + Hospitals / Lincoln, where he was pronounced deceased.

A 46-year-old male suspect has been taken into custody and a weapon has been recovered.

Additionally, a 49-year-old female was present at the incident location with marks on her neck as a result of being choked by the suspect and her clothes were slashed by the apprehended suspect as well; she was treated at the scene by responding EMS.

Following proper family notification, the deceased has been identified as indicated.

Pursuant to an ongoing investigation, the following 46-year-old male individual has been arrested and charged on Wednesday, October 19, 2022, at 2007 hours within the confines of the 40 Precinct.

  • assault;
  • manslaughter;
  • attempted murder;
  • criminal possession of a weapon (2 counts).

The investigation remains ongoing.
