The Bronx Conservative Party held its monthly meeting on November 25, 2024, drawing party members and supporters from across the borough to review the results of the 2024 elections and prepare for the upcoming 2025 campaign cycle.
Chairman Patrick McManus opened the gathering by reflecting on the key events and stand out figures from this year’s elections. Among the notable highlights was the presentation of a special proclamation to Jim Livrieri, who dedicated nearly 100 hours volunteering at the party’s newly established headquarters.
Looking ahead, McManus called on attendees to consider stepping up and running for office in 2025, urging active participation as the party sets its sights on the next election cycle.
A special guest at the event, Councilwoman Kristy Marmorato, offered a brief but insightful update on her two years in office. She discussed her advocacy work, including efforts to improve safety around e-scooters, her opposition to the controversial “City of Yes” zoning initiatives, and her fight against the development of Bailey’s Casino.
But perhaps the most anticipated moment of the evening came when Bronx Conservative Party Vice Chairman Gonzalo Duran took to the stage, officially announcing his intention to run for Mayor of New York City in 2025. The announcement was met with enthusiasm, marking the beginning of a bold new chapter for the Bronx Conservatives as they look to make a significant impact on the city’s political landscape.
As the evening came to a close, it was clear that the Bronx Conservative Party is gearing up for a high-stakes election year, with Duran’s mayoral bid setting the tone for the 2025 race.
