An 18-year-old girl was shot once in the head on a Bronx street corner early this morning, police said.
The victim, who is in critical condition at St. Barnabas Hospital, was not immediately identified.
She and two men had been walking near the Morris Heights intersection of West Tremont and Grand Avenue around 02:15 a.m. when an assailant ambushed them and opened fire, cops said.
A single bullet tore into the victim’s skull, cops said.
The bloodshed may have been sparked by an earlier confrontation involving the victim, cops added.
There are no arrests and the investigation is ongoing, police said.
