Frances Cardona Passes At 96

Frances Cardona, a lifelong resident of the Bronx, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 30, 2014, at Albert Einstein Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. She was 96 and was the daughter of the late Martha Cardona, born on April 2, 1917 in Puerto Rico.

She was a hard-working woman who enjoyed spending quality time with her children and grandchildren. She will be remembered as a caring and compassionate person who had a love for music and singing. She was a loving mother and grandmother that will be missed dearly.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her children: Charles Borges, Antonio Borges and Daniel Borges, all of Bronx, NY, Clara Valentin and her husband, Louis of Atlanta, GA, formerly of Monticello, NY and her grandsons: Eric and Jason Valentin of Atlanta, GA, formerly of Monticello, NY.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Peters Church, Liberty Street, Monticello, NY on Tuesday, February 4th, at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Woodbourne Cemetery, Woodbourne, NY.

Arrangements were under the direction of Colonial Memorial Funeral Home.
