A Bronx man and his three small children were injured Saturday in an early morning fire at their Bronx apartment.
Fire officials said the two-alarm fire started at around 3:00 a.m on the top floor of a building on 50 East 191 Street.
The children, who authorities say are all under 3 years old, suffered smoke inhalation and are now in stable condition.
The fire was so intense it melted parts of the firefighters’ protective gear.
Three firefighters suffered minor injuries. The children’s mother was also in the apartment, but was not treated for any injuries.
Officials are still investigating what started the fire.
