On Sunday, August 30, 2020, at approximately 2017 hours, police responded to a 911 call of a motor vehicle accident with injuries at the intersection of Grand Concourse and 181st Street within the confines of the 46th Precinct in the Bronx.

Upon arrival, officers discovered an unconscious and unresponsive 23-year-old male.

EMS responded to the location and transported the male to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.

A preliminary investigation determined that the motorcycle driven by a 20-year-old male, was traveling southbound on Grand Concourse, ran the light and struck a white “Acura” driven by a 24-year-old male, traveling westbound on E. 181st Street.

The driver of the motorcycle was transported to St. Barnabas Hospital and was treated for minor injuries.

The 23-year-old passenger on the motorcycle was pronounced deceased.

The driver of the white Acura was transported to NYC Health + Hospitals / Jacobi Hospital for minor injuries in stable condition.

The female passenger was transported to NYC Health + Hospitals / Jacobi Hospital in stable condition.

The 18-year-old male passenger and other female passenger refused medical attention.

The investigation is ongoing by the New York City Police Department’s Highway Patrol Collision Investigation Squad.

Following proper family notification, the deceased has been identified as indicated.

There have been no arrests made and the investigation remains ongoing.
