On Friday, September 03, 2021, at approximately 2038 hours, police responded to a 911 call of a shooting in front of 1137 E. 229th Drive South (Edenwald Houses), within the confines of the 47 lth Precinct / Police Service Area 8 in the Bronx.
Upon arrival, officers observed a 28-year-old male with a gunshot wound to his chest.
EMS responded to the scene and transported the victim to Montefiore Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
Following proper family notification, the deceased has been identified as indicated.

There have been no arrests made and the investigation remains ongoing.
