On Saturday, August 28, 2021, at approximately 2042 hours, police responded to a 911 call of two pedestrians, struck by a vehicle at the intersection of East Fordham Road and Morris Avenue within the confines of the 46th Precinct in the Bronx.
Upon arrival, police observed a 44-year-old female and a 53-year-old female, unconscious and unresponsive, with trauma throughout the body.
EMS also responded and transported both aided to St. Barnabas Hospital, where the 44-year-old female was pronounced deceased, and the 53-year-old female was listed in stable condition.
A preliminary investigation determined that an unknown vehicle was traveling eastbound on E. Fordham Road when the operator failed to properly navigate the roadway and struck the 44-year-old female. The unknown vehicle also collided with metal items that were on the sidewalk, causing the metal items to strike the 53-year-old female.
The vehicle did not remain on the scene.
The NYPD’s Highway Collision Investigation Squad is investigating.

On Saturday, November 27, 2021, at 1703 hours, the following 35-year-old male off-duty New York City employee (NYC Department of Education Employee (Maintenance Worker) was arrested and charged within the confines of the 50th Precinct in the Bronx, related to the above-listed incident.
Bronx, NY 10471
- leaving the scene of an accident with injury;
- leaving the scene of an accident without reporting – death.
The investigation remains ongoing.
All charges are merely accusations and all defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
