Police say a chase and a shootout landed three suspects in custody after they opened fire on a father and son in Bronx.

Around 3:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 3,2011, officers spotted a 2004 Chevy Impala that was seen at an earlier shooting of a 37-year-old man and his 10-year-old son on Westchester Avenue.

As police began to follow the car, the suspects took off. Cops chased after the car until it lost control around Bryant and Lafayette avenues.

That’s when police say one of the suspects started shooting at one of the officers, who shot back hitting the suspect.

After a foot chase, police say all three suspects were caught and taken into custody. Officers also found a .38 Caliber revolver.

The suspect who was shot was taken to Lincoln Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Charges are still pending and the investigation is ongoing.
