Bronx Driver, 35, Dead On Impact

A 35-year-old New York man died when he crashed his car into a pole at 91st Street and Kennedy Boulevard in North Bergen early yesterday morning, the Hudson County Sheriff’s Office said.

The Bronx man, whose name was not released pending notification of his family, died at the scene, a spokesman at the sheriff’s office said.

The man was driving a 2007 Toyota Scion south on Kennedy Boulevard at 4 a.m. when he slammed into a pole near the Delta gas station at 9101 Kennedy Boulevard., officials said, adding that no one else was in the car.

The sheriff’s office is still investigating the crash and has not determined the cause. The man was not a licensed New York driver, but he did have a learner’s permit, officials said.
