A 13-month-old Bronx boy died after possibly swallowing pills from a pill bottle that he thought was a toy.
Authorities say Edwin Perocier, Jr., died at Lincoln Hospital after his parents found him unresponsive in their apartment.
Detectives believe the infant was playing with a prescription pill bottle, thinking it was a noisemaker.
But then the child apparently opened the bottle and ate the pills inside.
The boy’s parents are being interviewed by detectives. No charges were immediately filed.
An autopsy will be conducted Saturday to determine the cause of death.
