A Bronx assistant principal was arrested Friday after she punched one of her teachers, striking the educator in the forehead, officials said.
Josette Joseph, 57, faces misdemeanor assault and harassment charges in the noontime attack that occurred as the two women argued inside Public School 49 in Mott Haven. It was not immediately known if the fight took place in front of children.
The teacher, 54, was not seriously harmed.
Joseph, a Department of Education employee for more than 13 years, was given a desk appearance ticket. She refused to talk to reporters Friday evening.
The attack takes place a day after the city and the teachers union announced a nine-year contract with substantial salary raises.
