On Wednesday, February 26, 2020, at approximately 1900 hours, police responded to a 911 call for a vehicle collision involving a pedestrian struck near the intersection of Pelham Parkway and Wallace Avenue, in the confines of the 49th Precinct in Bronx.
Upon arrival, officers discovered an unconscious 39-year-old male pedestrian at the location being treated by EMS. He was subsequently transported to NYC Health & Hospitals / Jacobi where he pronounced deceased.
A preliminary investigation conducted by NYPD’s Collision Investigation Squad determined that a 17-year-old operator of a 2012 Infiniti was traveling westbound on Pelham Parkway when he struck the pedestrian crossing southbound outside the crosswalk. The pedestrian was then struck by a second unidentified vehicle that did not remain at the scene.
Following proper family notification, the victim has been identified as follows.

The investigation remains ongoing.
All charges are merely accusations and all defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
