Army Change Of Command In Bronx

The United States Army 4th Legal Support Organization will conduct a change of command ceremony at its headquarters at 555 East 238th Street, Bronx, NY 10470 on July 10, 2010 beginning at 10:00 a.m.

COL Joseph Cerreto, the current Commander will turn over command to COL Roberto DiBella.

COL Cerreto, MA History Fordham Univ., JD Hofstra, has been deployed numerous time, including into combat in Iraq working with the Central Criminal Court, where he was awarded the Bronze Star Medal, among his other decorations and awards.

COL DiBella, BA Hartwick College, JD Pepperdine, has also been deployed numerous times including into combat, working on Iraqi re-settlement operations, and has acted as White House Advisor while on active duty. He was awarded the Bronze Star Medal, among his other awards and decorations.

The 4th Legal Support Organization (LSO) was activated in October 1959 in New York City. The Unit moved in the mid 1960’s to the Robert P. Patterson USAR Center in Bronx, New York. The 4th LSO moved to its current quarters at the SGT Joseph E. Muller USAR Center in northern Bronx, New York in September 1999.

The 4th LSO is the most mobilized unit in the United States Army Reserve and has had members mobilized continuously in the current war since September 11, 2001. The 4th LSO also suffered the United States Army’s first casualty in the War on Terror, losing LTC William Pohlman in the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001.

Members of the 4th LSO were mobilized for Desert Shield 1991. In 1996, the unit was mobilized for Operations Joint Endeavor/Joint Guard- Bosnia, Croatia and Herzegovina.

Our Soldiers provide services to active duty installations, including the United States Military Academy, West Point, and Forts Meade, Monmouth, Hamilton, Drum and Dix.

The unit has also provided legal support to United States Coast Guard Command, Earle Naval Weapons Station, NJ, Naval Air Engineering Center Lakehurst, NJ.

The 4th LSO has a worldwide mission serving installations and commands overseas including Germany, Belgium, United Kingdom, Saudi Arabia, Panama, Honduras, Egypt and Bolivia. Our unit has members currently deployed in support of combat operations and will soon surge a large number of unit members in support of future combat operations in coordination with Active Duty components of the Army.
