An 81-year-old woman has died in an early morning fire at an apartment building in Bronx, authorities say.
Police say Patricia Parrish was found unconscious and unresponsive as firefighters responded to a blaze in her 7th floor apartment on Saint Raymonds Avenue shortly after midnight.
Authorities say Parrish suffered from smoke inhalation. She was taken to Jacobi Hospital and was later pronounced dead.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
