On Tuesday, November 16, 2021, at approximately 0607 hours, police responded to a 911 call of a pedestrian, struck by a vehicle at 2625 Jerome Avenue, within the confines of the 52nd Precinct in the Bronx.
Upon arrival, police observed an 80-year-old male, lying on the roadway with trauma to his head and right leg.
EMS also responded and transported the male to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased later that day.
A preliminary investigation determined that the male was struck by a blue SUV, that was traveling southbound on Jerome Avenue.
The vehicle did not remain at the scene and fled southbound on Jerome Avenue.
The NYPD’s Highway Collision Investigation Squad is investigating.
Following proper family notification, the deceased has been identified as indicated.

There have been no arrests made and the investigation remains ongoing.
