In a political climate increasingly defined by division, partisanship, and exclusion, the United Alliance Party offers a breath of fresh air—and a bold new vision for the future of American leadership.

Founded on the principles of inclusion, opportunity, and empowerment, the United Alliance Party is creating a political home for those who have felt left out, overlooked, or boxed in by traditional party politics. With the motto “Not Blue. Not Red. Just Us—United,” the movement champions everyday people—those with passion, experience, and heart—to step forward and represent their communities.

A Platform for Second Chances—and First-Timers

“We built this party for the people,” says Gonzalo Duran, Coordinating Officer of the United Alliance Party and current candidate for Public Advocate in New York City. “Whether you have run for office before or you are stepping up for the first time, we believe you deserve a fair shot.”

The party was designed to remove the barriers that often stop people from running—like party affiliation restrictions, complex bureaucracy, and a lack of institutional support. As long as a candidate is legally eligible to run for office (as determined by the NYC Board of Elections), they are welcome to run under the United Alliance Party.

No special endorsements. No political machine. Just qualified citizens who care.

Real Support for Real People

Running for office can be daunting, but the United Alliance Party aims to make it accessible and achievable.

Candidates receive:

  • Administrative guidance from start to finish
  • Help with required documents and BOE submissions
  • Clear, supportive instructions to meet all legal requirements
  • Access to training, petitioning opportunities, and volunteer support

It is not just about providing tools—it is about building confidence in new leaders who represent the full diversity of New York City’s neighborhoods.

Meet the 2025 Candidates

Already, a wave of candidates is stepping up through the United Alliance Party:

  • Gonzalo Duran – Public Advocate;
  • Michael Henderson – Manhattan City Council, District 9;
  • Tyreek Goodman – Bronx City Council, District 8;
  • Giovanni Franco – Queens City Council, District 21;
  • Eleanor McArthur – Brooklyn City Council, District 37;
  • Jennifer Hom – Staten Island City Council, District 49.

With several City Council seats still open, the party is actively seeking new candidates to fill those roles and bring new ideas to the table. This list is updated periodically, for updated names, please visit here

A Call to Action

In addition to candidate support, the United Alliance Party welcomes both volunteers and petitioners to join the cause. Paid petitioning opportunities are available in limited numbers, and volunteer training is provided for those interested in getting involved at the grassroots level.

“This is not about politics as usual,” Duran adds. “This is about people taking back power and leading with integrity. If you have ever wanted to make a difference, now is your chance.”
