About Marko Stout
Marko Stout is a multimedia and film artist based in New York City. He is best known for his stimulating narratives of contemporary urban society, in which subjects frequently appear in a moderate state of distress, overwhelmed by their modern environment while maintaining the chic detached sexy demeanor of a sophisticated twenty-first century city dweller. Marko Stout’s exhibitions frequently feature his experimental post-new wave (la nouvelle vague) art films, which focus on the fundamental foundations of modern urban vision and mobility, as well as his predilection for atypical narrative structure and collaboration with non-actors.
Marko Stout was born on September 27, 1962, in Point Pleasant, New Jersey (US). He graduated from high school in Brick Township, NJ, with a BA in biology from Rowan University and a medical degree from New York College Medicine. Marko discovered his interest for art and movies while living on a houseboat in a bohemian San Francisco neighborhood. When Marko Stout returned to New York City, he established himself in the city’s downtown art scene, receiving inspiration from local street painters as well as the city’s numerous galleries and museums of modern art.
Marko Stout’s work can be seen in a number of international exhibitions, fine art galleries, and private collections. Marko Stout’s solo galleries are located in New York City, Chicago, Sobe, Paris, Berlin, Tokyo, Hong Kong, and Madrid.
About Kate Oh Gallery
Founded in 2017 by Kate Oh, the gallery is devoted to supporting artists who work in a range of media including works on paper and paintings to sculpture, performance, and installations. The mission of the gallery is to advocate for the work of both well-known as well as emerging artists through exhibitions and introduce them to collectors and the general public. The exhibition program is both diverse and inclusive, showcasing the works of artists around the world.
