In 2024 alone, the system hired more than 3,400 nurses and improved its nurse turnover rate to 7.3%. The public health system also provides approximately 60% of New York City’s behavioral health services and has reduced behavioral health staff turnover from 18% to 8% since 2022.
MetroPlusHealth, the health plan of NYC Health + Hospitals, has provided affordable, quality healthcare to New Yorkers for more than 40 years and serves nearly 700,000 members. The health plan was recognized for its innovative approach to addressing social determinants of health, including programs that help members access food, housing, and transportation.
