The New Owner is a family-friendly theatre production that tells the emotional story of a shelter dog named Bart and his journey through love, loss, loyalty, and friendship.

The story begins after Bart is adopted by his new owner, Mabel, following the loss of her husband. What unfolds is an emotional journey filled with highs and lows that explores the bond between people and their pets in a deeply personal way.

No words are spoken during the performance. Instead, the production relies on music, motion visuals, lighting, and remarkable puppetry performed by the cast to tell the story. The combination creates an immersive experience that is easy for both children and adults to follow.

The show also encourages the audience to think about the lives shelter dogs may have lived before finding a home. Have you ever wondered what your own dog may have gone through before becoming part of your family? New Owner captures that feeling in a powerful and emotional way.

The New Victory Theater itself adds to the experience. The theater is designed with accessibility in mind and offers accommodations for individuals with disabilities, including sensory-friendly support for neurodivergent guests.

Before and after the show, families can enjoy several activities inside the theater, including drawing stations, poetry areas, and other interactive experiences. Many activities remain open after the performance, and audience members also have opportunities for photos with members of the cast.

The theater additionally offers healthy concession options for guests attending the performance.
