Kemel Smith, 31, Wanted For The Murder Of Jayquan Lewis, 21

On Friday, August 13, 2021, at approximately 1609 hours, police responded to a call of an assault inside 2550 Bainbridge Avenue, within the confines of the 52nd precinct in the Bronx.

Upon arrival, officers observed a 21-year-old male with multiple gunshot wounds to his body, lying unconscious and unresponsive inside the location.

EMS responded and transported the victim to an area hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.

Following proper family notification, the deceased has been identified as indicated.

Pursuant to an ongoing investigation, the New York Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in locating the suspect, depicted above, who is wanted in connection to the above-listed homicide.

The individual is identified as Kemel Smith, a 31-year-old male, Black.

There have been no arrests made and the investigation remains ongoing.
