A livery cab driver who was shot by a passenger during a Bronx robbery attempt has succumbed to his injuries.
The death of Julio Lora was announced Wednesday by the New York State Federation of Taxi Drivers. He was wounded on March 31, 2011.
Spokesman Fernando Mateo says the father of six worked seven days a week, and 12 hours a day, to support his family.
His wake will be held Saturday at the Ortiz Funeral Home in Bronx.
Donations are being sought to help the Lora family return his body to the Dominican Republic.
