Pursuant to an ongoing investigation in regard to the below described incident, the following 23-year-old male individual has been arrested and charged.

Arrested:

Juan Bermudez
283 Cypress Avenue, Apt. 4J
Bronx, NY 10454

Charges:

  • attempted murder 2nd;
  • robbery 1st;
  • assault 2nd;
  • criminal possession of weapon.

The New York City Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance identifying the individual depicted in the attached video and wanted for questioning in connection to a robbery that occurred within the confines of the 40th Precinct / Transit District 12 in the Bronx.

The following was reported to the police.

On Monday, February 03, 2020, at approximately 0324 hours, a 30-year-old male was approached by an unidentified individual while inside the Cypress Avenue subway station, on the northbound 6 train platform. The individual repeatedly stabbed the victim with a cutting instrument in the face and forcibly removed his cellphone before fleeing unknown direction.

The victim sustained serious physical injuries (lacerations to face) and was transported to NYC Health & Hospitals/Lincoln where he was treated for his injuries.
