On Wednesday, April 14, 2021, at approximately 1229 hours, police responded to a 911 call of an assault in progress at City Island Avenue and City Island Road, in the confines of the 45th Precinct in the Bronx.
Upon arrival, responding officers encountered an unconscious and unresponsive 52-year-old female with multiple gunshot wounds to the body and a conscious 66-year-old male with trauma to the body.
EMS also responded to the scene and removed both individuals to NYC Health + Hospitals / Jacobi, where the 52-year-old female was pronounced deceased.
The 66-year-old male was in custody at the hospital and is listed in stable condition; charges against him are pending.
Preliminary investigation revealed that after the shooting incident, a 58-year-old male, operating a 2016 Hyundai Sonata, struck the 66-year-old male with his vehicle, causing bodily injury.
Following proper family notification, the deceased has been identified as indicated.

Pursuant to an ongoing investigation, the following 66-year-old male individual was arrested and charged on Thursday, April 15, 2021, within the confines of the 45th Precinct.

- criminal possession of a weapon.
The investigation remains ongoing.
