Jonathan Rosario, 24, Arrested For The Murder Of Katherine Diop, 29

On Wednesday, June 16, 2021, at approximately 2324 hours, police responded to a 911 call of a male, shot at E. 194th Street and Marion Avenue, within in the confines of the 52nd Precinct in the Bronx.

Upon arrival, officers observed two individuals with gunshot wounds, a 31-year-old male with multiple gunshot wounds about his body, and a 29-year-old female with a gunshot wound to her torso.

EMS also responded to the location and transported both victims to St. Barnabas Hospital, where the female was pronounced deceased. The male is currently listed in stable condition.

Following proper family notification, the deceased has been identified as indicated.

On Sunday, July 11, 2021, at approximately 1441 hours, pursuant to an ongoing investigation, the following 24-year-old male individual was arrested and charged in connection to the above-listed incident.

  • criminal possession of a weapon;
  • criminal possession of a controlled substance.

The investigation remains ongoing.
