On Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at approximately 1039, police responded to a 911 call of a vehicle collision on the southbound Major Deegan Expressway at the E. 233rd Street exit, within the confines of the 50th precinct in the Bronx.
Upon arrival, officers observed a 34-year-old male, laying in the roadway with severe trauma to his body.
EMS responded and transported the male to St. Barnabas hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
Preliminary investigation revealed the 34-year-old male was operating a 2007 Honda Shadow Motorcycle in the left lane and while attempting to brake, rear ended a 2007 Toyota Prius, which was stopped in the left lane due to a flat tire, causing him to be ejected to the roadway.
The 53-year-old female operator of the 2007 Toyota Prius remained on scene.
Following proper family notification, the deceased has been identified as indicated.

There have been no arrests made and the investigation remains ongoing.
