On Sunday, July 26, 2020, at approximately 0542 hours, police responded to a 911 call of an assault in progress in the vicinity of Grote Street and Prospect Avenue, within the confines of the 48th Precinct in the Bronx.
Upon arrival, officers encountered a 20-year-old male with a gunshot wound to the groin and a 24-year-old male with a gunshot wound to the head.
EMS also responded to the scene and transported both males to St. Barnabas Hospital, where the 24-year-old male was pronounced deceased; the 20-year-old male was listed as stable.
Following proper family notification, the deceased has been identified as indicated.

- murder;
- criminal possession of a weapon.
The investigation remains ongoing.
