On Friday, June 26, 2020, at approximately 1950 hours, police responded to a 911 call for a vehicle collision at the intersection of Crotona Avenue and Fairmount Place, in the confines of the 48th Precinct in the Bronx.
Upon arrival, officers discovered a 21-year-old male operator unconscious and unresponsive with severe head trauma.
The operator was transported by EMS to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
A preliminary investigation conducted by NYPD’s Collision Investigation Squad determined the 21-year-old male was operating a 2005 “Hyundai” SUV northbound on Crotona Avenue when he lost control, swerved right and struck two legally parked vehicles before rolling over the vehicle on to its driver’s side.
A 23-year-old front seated passenger was uninjured.
Following proper family notification, the deceased has been identified as indicated.

The investigation remains ongoing.
