On Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at approximately 1704 hours, New York City Police Department (NYPD) received a 911 call, reporting a pedestrian, struck by a vehicle at the intersection of White Plains Road and E. 232nd Street, within the confines of the 47th Precinct in the Bronx.
Further investigation by the NYPD Highway District’s Collision Investigation Squad determined a 67-year-old female was crossing westbound in the roadway, when she was struck by a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee, operated by a 54-year-old male, also traveling westbound.
The pedestrian sustained severe head trauma and was transported by EMS to St. Barnabas Hospital in critical condition.
The driver remained on scene, and the investigation is ongoing by the NYPD’s Highway District Collision Investigation Squad.
The victim succumbed to her injuries on Thursday, September 25, 2025, and was pronounced deceased.
Following proper family notification, the deceased has been identified as indicated.
