Emily Ramierez, 23, Arrested For The Homicide Of Amelia Belle Perez, 8 Months

On Wednesday, July 03, 2019 at approximately 1832 hours, police responded to a 911 call of an aided infant inside of 1579 Vyse Avenue, Apt. 3A, (Murphy Houses) within the confines of the 42 Precinct (PSA #7) in Bronx.

Upon arrival, officers observed an 8-month-old female, unconscious and unresponsive, within a bathtub in the bathroom of the apartment.

EMS responded to the location and transported the infant to Saint Barnabus Hospital in critical condition, before further transporting the infant to Montefiore Children’s Hospital, where the child was pronounced deceased on Monday, July 15, 2019.

The deceased has been identified as:

Amelia Belle Perez
1579 Vyse Avenue, Apt. 3A
Bronx, NY 10460

Pursuant to an ongoing investigation, on September 09, 2019, the following 23-year-old female individual has been arrested and charged in regard to the incident below:

Charges:

  • criminally negligent homicide
  • act in a manner injurious to a child

The investigation remains ongoing.

All charges are merely accusations and all defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
