On Saturday, June 20, 2020, at approximately 1710 hours, police responded to vehicle collision with a bicycle on Shore Road (City Island Bridge), in the confines of the 45th Precinct in the Bronx.
Upon arrival, officers discovered a 43-year-old male with severe head trauma, unconscious and unresponsive.
EMS arrived and transported him to NYC Health & Hospitals / Jacobi, where he was pronounced deceased.
A preliminary investigation, conducted by the NYPD’s Collision Investigation Squad, determined the male was on a electric bike traveling southbound on the east sidewalk when he lost control and fell off the sidewalk entering the roadway, while a 28-year-old male was operating a 2018 “Jeep” “Wrangler” northbound on Shore Road. The “Jeep” subsequently struck the bicycle, causing the bicyclist to strike his head.
Following proper family notification, the deceased has been identified as indicated.

The investigation remains ongoing.
