The Foodway at Concrete Plant Park is NYC’s only edible food forest on public land. It is a special place where connection has taken on a new and unique meaning for our community as a connection to the land – and to access to fresh herbs, food, and fruit.

The Foodway has allowed us to offer surrounding communities programming that teaches horticultural stewardship and the benefits of plant life – some of which can be foraged directly from the foodway. Some of this programming includes herbal distributions, volunteer opportunities, and Foodway tours.

.

The Foodway has been welcoming to the community during events year-round. We have been able to collaborate with partners and expand our reach even further, and wider than just the Bronx River corridor. One notable event that truly embodied our connections within partnerships this year was the 2nd Annual Community Banquet.

With your support, we can continue to activate the Foodway for the local community to learn, thrive, and expand their knowledge with exclusive programming.

About the Bronx River Alliance

The Bronx River Alliance serves as a coordinated voice for the river. We work in harmonious partnership to protect, improve and restore the Bronx River corridor. Our goal is to make a healthy ecological, recreational, educational, and economic resource for all communities through which the river flows.

The Alliance works in close partnership with the New York City Parks as well as dozens of community-based partners, regional nonprofits, businesses and all levels of government.
